The mammalian expression system is widely used to produce recombinant proteins that often require mammalian post-translational modifications (e.g., glycosylation, disulfide bonds, phosphorylation) and proper folding.

 

Phase/Description

1) Subcloning

  • subcloning your gene of interest into a mammalian cell expreesion vector
  • verification of the subcloned gene by PCR and sequencing
  • verified sequencing file and expression vector will be shipped to the customer

2) Stable Protein Expression

  • transfecting target cells
  • stable protein expression
  • 20-50 clones will be shipped to the customer

3) Expression Analysis and Optimization

  • testing for expression of the recombinant protein by Western blot (customer must provide appropriate antibodies)
  • expression data, stable protein expression cell lines and conditioned media will be sent to the customer

4) Protein Production

  • protein purification using affinity chromatography
  • characterization by Western blot (customer must provide appropriate antibodies)
  • purified proteins, QC data and documentation of procedures will be sent to the customer and 500ug protein.
